The standard we build to

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That target shapes the build rather than describing a finished audit: no independent accessibility audit has been carried out yet.

What is in place

• Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring.
• The opening question on the homepage can be answered from the keyboard. With JavaScript turned off it does not appear at all, and the page reads top to bottom.
• Body text is 18px with generous line spacing, and nothing meaningful is set below 15px, apart from the tagline in the logo.
• Text and interface colors meet or exceed the AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
• Headings run in order, landmarks are real HTML elements, and form fields have labels above them rather than placeholder text pretending to be labels.
• Form errors are plain sentences next to the field, never a color on its own.
• Motion is limited to the opening question fading, the page moving to your headline, a short slide when an answer panel opens, the last section at the foot of the page fading in, the page scrolling to a form when you open it, and buttons changing colour when you hover over them. All of it switches off when your system asks for reduced motion.
• The layout works at 320px wide and at 400 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling.

What is not done yet

• No screen reader testing with real users has taken place.
• No independent audit has been commissioned.
• Any document we publish later, such as a PDF quote template, has not been checked for accessibility.

This list gets shorter as work is completed, and this page is updated when it does.

If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, email office@tradebirdie.com with the page and what happened. We will reply inside five working days, and we will tell you either when it is fixed or why it is not going to be.
